In 1936, brother Frank and Wilfred (Shum) Malet, along with bother in-law David Levan, founded Empire Chemical Company, opening their doors for the first time in a modest warehouse at 715 Lamar Street in Downtown Los Angeles. Manufacturing and distributing its own line of quality cleaning supplies, Empire grew quickly, earning a stellar reputation for supplying superior products at reasonable prices and by offering excellent service. The company’s philosophy has always been that of catering to the needs of their customers. Not even the advent of World War II could discourage Empire’s owners from backing down on their promise: ” The right product and right solution, as fast as the customer’s need arises,” as Frank Malet affirmed back in 1936.

Empire Cleaning Supply, with Robert Cronyn, nephew of Frank, at the helm, honors its founder’s memory with its selection of exceptional products, great value, and a record of outstanding customer satisfaction.

Under his leadership, Robert Cronyn, who graduated from UCLA in 1991, has expanded the company dramatically, moving Empire’s headquarters to Los Angeles, near Gardena, in 1996. In 2014, Empire Cleaning Supply’s headquarters moved to its new location located in Montebello California. Now with 3 locations across Southern California, Empire takes pride in its full line of high-performance cleaning and sanitary maintenance supplies to commercial, industrial, and institutional customers throughout the U.S.

In 2019, Empire Cleaning Supply was acquired by Aramsco, Inc. a distributor to a broad range of industries including concrete surface preparation, environmental remediation, building restoration, professional cleaning, and stone fabrication. The combined partnership provides customers with expanded access to additional services and products to help their business grow.
